Welcome to Swim Season – Important Reminders & Updates

Good Morning Shark Families,

We had a great first day of swimming yesterday, and we are so excited to get the season started! This is going to be a long message, so please read to the end.

Just a few friendly reminders:

  • Practice attire:
    • Girls should wear a one-piece swimsuit (team suit is a plain black one-piece).
    • Boys should wear jammers.
  • Swim caps:
    • Anyone with shoulder-length or longer hair should wear a swim cap at practice.
    • All swimmers must wear a swim cap during meets.
    • If this is your first year on the team, please see Emily at practice to receive a swim cap.
    • Returning swimmers are asked to wear last year’s cap, as our team order has been delayed. We hope to have new caps soon.
    • If you do not have a cap, we have a limited number available (donated by a team family). Please see a coach during practice.
  • Open swim reminder:
If you are a pool member, your swimmer may use the deep end only under parent or guardian supervision. There is no lifeguard on duty, and coaches cannot supervise swimmers outside of their assigned groups.
If a child is injured during this time, we will have to remove this privilege for all swimmers, so please supervise carefully. This applies to the baby pool as well.
  • Communication:
Please make sure you have downloaded the SwimTopia app and/or SportsYou. These are our primary communication tools and the fastest way to receive updates. Instructions for joining can be found on the team website.
  • Volunteers needed:
If you are interested in becoming a Stroke & Turn Judge, please reply to this email. There is now an online training you can complete on your own schedule, and we will also offer on-deck training before a meet.

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

It’s going to be a great season—Go Sharks!
